*NOW A HIT TV SERIES ON DISNEY JUNIOR*
Fans of Fancy Nancy and weddings alike will laugh along with Nancy as she discovers how truly special a wedding can be--whether lavish or, as this one turns out to be, more down to earth.
No one is more excited than Nancy when word of her uncle's wedding plans spreads. Nancy has visions of a trés magnifique wedding fit for a royal princess--with Nancy serving as a flower girl. But when Nancy finds out that the wedding will be held at a lakeside cabin at dawn and that there won't be a traditional flower girl, she's beyond disappointed.
But in the end Nancy is able to add a touch of fancy to the festivities and appreciate the special joys of loved ones gathering to celebrate a wedding (especially when she learns that pancakes will be served at the reception!).
Fancy Nancy's wisdom and creativity shine through to spark the joy of imagination in young readers.

Kirkus Review
Given the obvious opportunities, it's remarkable that it took O'Connor and Glasser eight years to place their pulchritudinous picture-book phenom into a wedding-themed talebut the wait was worth it.The setup is simple: Nancy's uncle is getting married, and the whole family is invited. The fact that the wedding is in two weeks might give readers a clue that it's not exactly a formal affair, but Nancy immediately assumes that: a) it will be very fancy; and b) she'll be the flower girl. A tackle box packed into the car along with the luggage provides a second clue to the true nature of the event. Nonetheless, the author and illustrator treat readers to a vision of opulence and elegance as the family arrives at a grand hotel and celebrates in style. Turns out that's just a dream, though, and the ultimate destination is actually a lakeside cabin. Though Uncle Cal and his fiancee, Dawn, have their own ideas about how to get hitched, Dawn is savvy enough to accept a loan from Nancy that adds a certain over-the-top element to her ensemble and satisfies Nancy's ever present urge to make the world more beautiful. Appealing, expressive illustrations complement the text's cheerful tone and help to keep the sweet story from becoming saccharine.Frothy and fun, Nancy's latest adventure feels as fresh as her first appearance. Booklist Review
Fancy Nancy is thrilled to learn that her uncle is getting married. She is excited to go to her first ever wedding, and she is certain that she knows what to expect: it will be a lavish affair where ladies wear elbow-length gloves and dance well past midnight, and, most important, Nancy will get to be the flower girl, with a frilly, petaled gown of her own. But when Nancy wakes from her glamorous wedding dreams, she is dismayed to learn that her uncle is having a nontraditional wedding at a lakeside cabin at dawn and she doesn't even get to be a flower girl. Effervescent Nancy comes around, though, when she realizes that nontraditional weddings especially ones with pancakes at the reception can be just as great. Fans of Nancy will be happy to see the usual hallmarks her determined fashion sense, riotous curls, and expansive vocabulary are all on display and little girls coveting that treasured flower basket will learn that weddings are fun whether or not they get to process down the aisle.--Hunter, Sarah Copyright 2010 Booklist
