Meet Amelia Louise McBride. She's been forced to move out of Manhattan after her parents decided to get divorced, and is now living in a small town (who cares which one) with her mom and her aunt, Tanner. Not to mention the fact that she's dealing with being the new kid in school, many trips to the principal's office, first kisses, etc. But you know what? She's got her friends Reggie, Rhonda, and Pajamaman, and everything's going to be okay. Except, of course, when it isn't.

In Book 3, the members of G.A.S.P. (Gathering of Awesome Super Pals) embrace their inner superheroes, even if it means wearing underwear over their pants.

Booklist Review

Now 10, Amelia is struggling with new issues, some of which move her out into a larger world: Mom is dating, it's a new school year, Amelia has her first crush, and a friend's father, who is in the army, is being deployed. As always, Amelia's many feelings whiplash right across her elastic countenance, and there are some great laugh-out-loud moments. A few gags will resonate mostly with adults (Joe McCarthy Elementary School: Weeding out the Wrong Element since 1952 ), but this fourth entry in the Amelia Rules series still has plenty that's spot-on for kids.--Zvirin, Stephanie Copyright 2008 Booklist
