Adrian Alkanah Parsons was born November 7, 1848 in Guilford County, NC to Nelson Y. (1826 – 1875) and Elvira (Swain) Parsons (1828 – 1893). Adrian became a disable veteran of the Civil War and married Mary Mariah Fox (1850 – 1922) in Hendricks County on April 10, 1870. They lived and farmed in Washington Township raising 10 children and pioneering in the development of soy beans. Adrian died August 1, 1929.
