Chester “Chet” Adrian Parsons (1887 – 1977), son of Adrian Alkanah Parsons (1846 – 1929) and Mary Mariah (Fox) Parsons (1850 – 1922), served as Washington Township Trustee from 1943 – 1951.
Clement T. Malan (1882 – 1962) “served as state superintendent of public instruction from 1941 – 1947. He was a professor of political science at [Indiana State Teachers College] as well as Indiana and Butler universities. . . He was a resident of Lebanon.” Obituary from Terre Haute Star 29 June 1961.
Edna Merrial (Carr) Hamblen (1901 – 1983) served as librarian for Avon Washington Township library from April 30, 1930 to abt. 1951 during which time the library was physically in the public school building.
