Daniel Stright Barker (October 11, 1846 - April 7, 1925) was born in Avon, Indiana to Robert Jordan and Dorcas (Gossett) Barker. He married Emily Ann Mark on November 11, 1877. They had eight children. Three of the children: Mable, Robert M., and Gracie Ellen all died in infancy. The surviving children, Jasper Raymond, Ruth Amelia, and Dorcas Irene never married. Jordan Herman married Ada Reed. Mary Esther married William White.
