Lois Ileen (or Irene) Barker was born May 17, 1926 in Washington Township, Hendricks County, Indiana to Jorden Herman “Herman” Barker (1886 – 1969) and Ada Florence Reed Barker (1886 – 1933).
Ada Florence Reed was the daughter of William Gladden Reed (1841 – 1919) and Sarah A. (Larsh) Reed (1854 – 1945). Herman was the son of Daniel Stright Barker (1846 – 1925) and Emily A. (Mark) Barker (1858 – 1944).
Lois Ileen Barker, Ada Florence Barker and Jorden Herman Barker were in a serious car accident on December 9, 1933 that killed Ada Florence Barker and seriously injured Lois Ileen Barker and Jorden Herman Barker.
Lois Ileen Barker married Arthur Philip Smith (1918 – 1997) on December 17, 1949 and died November 21, 1999.
